What is Diwali?

Diwali is a 5-day celebration that honors light and brightness over darkness and spreads the message of friendship and togetherness. Quite a few religions celebrate it, including many sects of Hindus, Sikhs, Jains and Buddhists, and it’s also widely celebrated by people all over the world. It’s also considered by many to be the best time to start a new venture.

This year, the Diwali celebration starts with Dhanteras on November 10, and ends with Bhai Dooj on November 15, 2023. Lakshmi Puja (on Nov 12), is widely considered the biggest of the Diwali festival days, so Diwali technically falls on that day – Sunday, November 12. Read more about Diwali here.
