Want to throw an amazing Dune-themed dinner party? We have all the recipes you need to host a Dune party of your dreams and safely transport your guests to Arrakis.
The Dune Dinner Party in All Its Delicious Glory
We’re longtime Dune fans ~ we even made a real Spice Melange, (a Southwest Arrakis seasoning) to honor Frank Herbert’s 1965 novel (and the 1984 Dune movie) back when we founded Pinch in 2012. So we’re beyond excited for the new Dune movie, a new adaptation of the novel, which is coming out in theaters and on HBO Max on October 22, 2021.
We wanted to celebrate the launch with a Dune-tastic dinner party, so we connected with fellow Dune-lover and Pinch chef Megan Collins who is also the culinary brains behind WTF is Megan Eating.
The Complete Menu
Megan came up with fun and unique (not to mention tasty) dishes Frank Herbert would be proud of, complete with an appetizer, chicken main course, vegan dish, dessert and cocktail. Full recipes below:
- Appetizer: Muad’Dib Prosciutto-Wrapped Dates
- Main Course: The Spice Must Flow Cinnamon Chicken Roulade (Worm Roll!) with Turmeric Rice “Dunes” and Tzatziki Sauce
- Vegan Course: “Tell Me of Your Home World, Usul” Broccoli and Zucchini Dish
- Dessert: Boxes of Pain Brownies
- Cocktail: Water of Life Empress Gin Cocktail
Happy cooking and please send us pics if you decide to make any of this Dune-tastic food!
P.S. All ingredients can be purchased at Trader Joes (with exception of the high quality organic and fair trades spices, which you may guess where they come from). The decor you’ll see in the video was mostly scored at Dollar Tree.
I had SO much fun doing this! Thanks, again, for the opportunity!
Nailed it! You’re the best, Megan!
I feel like a bread could help this along. Perhaps a Baron Harko-naan?
Hilarious, although we don’t affiliate with House Harkonnen we completely approve of Harko-naan.
Your dinner idea was fantastic. I made the chicken roulade with rice. I added a cup of golden raisins the to chicken filling, and it was amazing! Thanks for posting this.
Aw, this put a huge smile on our faces! Thank you so much for stopping by to let us know and we’re so happy you loved it. The raisins – brilliant!
