This recipe for Tacos is simple and works as well for vegetarians as it does carnivores. Let’s face it, tacos are all about the seasoning and toppings.  In our case we choose to use tvp. You get to choose your own adventure with this.

  • 2 Tablespoons Taco Town Seasoning
  • 1 lbs ground beef, cubed chicken, or 1 cup TVP (vegetarian/vegan option)
  • 1 Tablespoon oil
  • 1 cup of water (if using tvp)
  • Taco shells or soft tortillas
  • Diced onions (optional)
  • Salsa (optional)
  • Cheese (optional)
  • Shredded lettuce (optional)
  • Diced tomatoes (optional)
  • Avocado (optional)
  • Most anything else minus the kitchen sink (optional)

  1. For meat-heat a skillet on medium high heat and add oil, when oil begins to shimmer add your meat of choice followed by the Taco Town seasoning. Saute until cooked through. Remove from heat.
  2. For TVP-add water to sauce pan and heat on high, add taco town seasoning and tvp. Bring to a simmer, reduce heat to a simmer and continue to cook for 10 minutes.  Remove from heat
  3. Assemble tacos with your favorite toppings
