I recently visited Mauritius, in Africa, where I bought whole coriander from the spice market. The aroma was so far beyond any coriander I’ve ever had, just incredible. I decided to replenish my quickly depleting coriander from pinch, wondering if I might find a similar quality to the local coriander from Mauritius, and it was! Better than any store bought coriander I’ve had. Thanks Pinch for helping me relive my travel dining dreams at home!!

Coriander is of course the dried seeds which when fresh gives us cilantro. It is a staple in curries that you make yourself with other Indian spices like cardamom, turmeric and cumin. But lately I’ve been adding it to a lot of things. Like cornbread. Oh dear I can’t remember what else I add it to. Potato dishes? A pot of beans? Stewed tomatoes? But I do know that I keep some in a new rechargeable gravity feed spice grinder that I bought. My most used spice after salt, pepper and cinnamon. The Pinch coriander is swoonworthy. It’s so pleasantly aromatic. Open up a bag and smell it. Em Em Em! Better yet crush some up in a mortar and pestle. It’s a mild spice, but the Pinch product is the best and strongest I’ve ever smelled/tasted. Wonderful!

Coriander was always a difficult spice for me to enjoy because it’s usually always some old spice you have sitting in your cabinet for 10 years way in the back forgotten so of course it never tastes good. But this one from Pinch is so good!
