If you have purchased previous mystery spices… and want to make sure we don’t send you a “repeat mystery spice” please notate on order what we’ve given you in the past. We mix it up a lot and try to prevent that, but sometimes duplicates happen.

This place is amazing! It is so easy to order and spices can be shipped or you can choose a “no contact” pick up in a locker outside their door. They even have a spice vending machine in the hallway! I bought Taste of Louisville” boxes as gifts for out of town relatives and a mystery spice for myself. It was a taco seasoning that I can’t wait to try! These folks are so nice. We ended up with the southwest melange. First, the dune reference made me laugh out loud. Second, this was the spice mix i didn’t know i needed. Tried it on grilled pork chops and it was amazing.

When I ordered the mystery spice I was super excited to see what I would get and was pleasantly surprised when I got the Buffy the Slayer Blend. It has become the one I grab instead of minced garlic when I make my spaghetti sauce or just need to add a punch of flavor to any meat I am cooking. I am VERY pleased with this option.
I made my first purchase about a month ago, and made 2 more purchases within a few days of each other, over the New Year.
My 3 Orders had 1, 4, and 2 Mystery Spices for each order, for a total of SEVEN Mystery Spices within a month or so order span.
Every single order had different “Mystery” spices. None were duplicates in the short period I had ordered, which is important because many times there is a small selection of items that would be used in these cases, and you would only be able to get a few choices during a certain time-frame(Maybe certain spices/items were overstocked and used as the item), and there would be a high chance of duplicates. For example, Baker Creek Farms, who sells plant seeds for gardening, includes “Free” seed packs if you spend a certain amount with them, and the more you spend in an order, the more freebies you get. I’ve ordered a few times from them, and I have had multiple duplicate “Free seeds,” from them. So overall, it’s nice, from what I see, that there is a lot of options to get in this Mystery Spice and you can get so many different choices.
My Mystery Spices were
Order 1:
Baharat – This Spice max was something that looked interesting when I saw it, so I am really excited to try it, as I wasn’t looking to invest into a 16oz bag if I didn’t know I would like it (Note, this was one of the Spices on sale for the New Year Sale).
Order 2:
Vindaloo – This was a spice I was looking to try from my first order, but was waiting to order at a later date. I tried this mystery spice Yesterday after I got the 2nd package and it was very interesting, I look forward to trying more of it! I was actually debating purchasing a 4-oz bag of this because it was on sale for the New Years Sale, but I ended up going with a full 16oz bag instead in my 3rd order. It’s funny how it worked out being one of the mystery spices in my 2nd order. I don’t blame Pinch for including a mystery spice in my 2nd order when my 3rd order, with the full 16-oz package, was ordered a few days later, as they might not have seen that order yet. I might end up wanting the 16oz as well, so it’s not that big of a deal; however, currently I’m not 100% sure how much I like it. I enjoyed it the first time, but need to try more of it to say for sure if it’s a keeper or not. (Note, the Mystery Spice price was less than the sale spice).
Greek Opa! – this was another spice I had had some interest in when I saw it, but like the Baharat, I wasn’t sure if I’d like it or not to buy a lot of it. I’m glad to be able to try this one too(Note, this was one of the Spices on sale for the New Year Sale).
Chai Town Chai Masala – This is an interesting Sweet-type Mix that is more for desserts and drinks. I definitely am interested in this as one of the things I want to make is eggnog, so this will be interesting to try out and see if it can add something to the eggnog. I’ve read Eggnog usually has just Nutmeg, but I’ve read it can have Cloves, Cinnamon, Cardamon, Star Anise, etc, to which I purchased nutmeg and cloves for my Eggnog, so having that in this mix, as well as Cinnamon, Cardamon, and Star Anise, should be interesting to try out. I don’t know how the other ingredients will fare though.
Order 3:
Jamaican Jerk – This was a spice mix that I was interested in trying, but I’m not a fan of Added Sugar and since Brown Sugar is one of the first ingredients, it was one I wasn’t really looking to purchase. However, I will try it out just to see if I like it. Maybe I can make my own sugar-less version if I like it(Note, this was one of the Spices on sale for the New Year Sale).
Marsha’s Sitka Salmon Rub – This one caught me by surprise, because I hadn’t seen this mix on the site. This one is definitely an interesting looking Mix, so I look forward to trying it out.
Overall, I’m very happy with the selection, and overall really happy I get to try out some of these mixes. All of my Mystery Spices were not only non-duplicates, but they were spice mixes, not single spices like paprika or mustard seed or black pepper, which is really nice so we can try out new spice mixes to enjoy. I think it’s also smart, since many times people might not like a single spice, so a spice mix is a safer bet as even if an ingredient in the mix might not be favored by the person, the mix might be really good anyways.
I look forward to purchasing more Mystery Spices in the future!

This was so fun to receive and already tried it on roasted asparagus and truly was great. The mystery spice that I got was Stir Fry Seasoning. I have lots of ideas for it in the future so don’t imagine it will last very long either.

I am new to Pinch and I am glad I tried it out.. I am trying different spices for homemade turkey deli meat and I figure why not try this mystery spice .. I got the Mrs Pinch and it was as good as the other spices I have tried.. I will have to do another mystery spice and see what I get this time.
