Our Cajun blend is a certified organic nod to the much respected “slappy” kind you may have seen around. It’s not meant to taste exactly the same, but rather it’s a tip of the hat to their creation with added organic flavor of our own creation. It’s a bit over medium spicy with some Cajun heat that’s nicely balanced with natural sweetness thanks to sprinkles of our pumpkin pie seasoning and nutmeg worked into it. It instantly adds flavor to any dish, especially catfish, shrimp, stews, rice and beans, tofu, burgers, cooked leafy veggies/greens and for seafood broils.

I’m what you might call a heavy user of the ‘slappy’ variant of this mix – so I was pretty excited when Pinch released a version. I’m happy to report it’s everything you’re hoping for from that other mix but better, fresher, and with a little more kick! This is a new staple for me, and I’m likely to use it in my egg & veggie scramble literally every morning.

If you love Cajun spice, this is for you! An absolute must-have in your pantry. I made shrimp boil last night with this in the form of “Russell” from the Taste of Louisville pack. INCREDIBLE!!! I put it in with the pot, of course, and in my butter. The flavor just don’t quit! I also bought this for my aunt and uncle who love to cook, try new things, and have traveled around and they said it was the best Cajun spice they’ve ever had.
